Wentworth Institute of Technology offers a variety of study abroad and international experiences and opportunities that helps expose our students to the needs and challenges of an increasingly global economy. As the world gets smaller, more and more companies are expanding their international presence and entering markets that require creative new ways of thinking.
Wentworth students can pursue faculty-led study abroad programs and travel electives, and the Center for Wellness offers Experiential Wellness programs in other countries.
School of Architecture & Design
Students in Architecture & Design have a variety of opportunities to pursue depending on degree level and major. Costs vary by program.
Undergraduate Semesters Abroad

Undergraduate Two Week Travel Electives
- Milan, Italy; Basel, Switzerland; Copenhagen, Denmark: Open to Interior/Industrial Design Juniors in the Summer
Graduate Required Travel Studios (Ten Day Travel)
Global Research Studios change destinations annually, past locations have included Scotland, Morocco, Greece, Scandinavia, Tokyo, Kenya, Istanbul, Portugal, Dubai, and Italy.

School of Management
The School of Management offers a semester abroad for Construction Management undergraduates. Students study and live at South East Technological University (SETU) and go on faculty-led site visits across Europe. Costs vary by program.
Undergraduate Semester Abroad
- Waterford, Ireland: Open to Construction Management Seniors in the Spring.
School of Sciences & Humanities
The School of Sciences & Humanities has run two weeklong international programs in Paris and Cyprus for students across Wentworth and the Colleges of the Fenway. Stay tuned for updates on this program.
- Paris, France: Museums of Paris is open to all majors in conjunction with a companion course that fills a Humanities & Social Sciences elective.
- Cyprus: History of Cyprus is open to all majors in conjunction with a companion summer course that fills a Humanities & Social Sciences elective.
Center for Wellness
Students can join the Experiential Wellness programs and gain the opportunity to be active, outdoors, and exposed to different cultures and experiences. Previous trips have included weeklong hikes in Ireland and Scotland; Tobagganing, skiing, and partaking in the food and culture of Switzerland. Costs vary.

Jody Gordon
Faculty Fellow for Study Abroad and Global Education (SAGE)
Jody Michael Gordon, Ph.D., is the Faculty Fellow for Study Abroad and Global Education (SAGE) in the Office of the Provost at Wentworth. As a Roman archaeologist, Jody has conducted research in a range of Mediterranean countries including, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Spain, and Tunisia. In 2023, Jody led Wentworth’s first study abroad trip to the island of Cyprus, and in the same year he received the President's Award for Distinguished Teaching.
Lauren Casten
Study Abroad Co-op
Laura Casten is an Industrial Design Student working on the Study Abroad and Global Education (SAGE) Team as a CO-OP. She is passionate about travel and would like to enhance other Wentworth students’ educational experience with Study Abroad programs. She recently participated in Wentworth’s Industrial Design Study Abroad trip to Milan, Italy; Basel, Switzerland; and Copenhagen, Denmark.
