Student Profiles
Sabrina Lorica '22
Growing up, Sabrina Lorica was obsessed with tree houses. That passion convinced her that architecture was her true calling. When the time came for college, Sabrina decided to study in Boston, a city known for its iconic architecture.
“I mentioned to Michael Mozill, my business professor, that a major tree house company was hiring. He said, ‘Hang up and call them now!’ I ended up spending several months working with some of the top names in tree-house design. I was star struck but also learned so much about the process of architecture."
Jadon Watson '24
When Professor Yetunde Folajimi announced the assignment—create an app that illustrates everything you’ve learned so far in Computer Science 2—Jaden Watson immediately thought about the pandemic. How could he use this opportunity to make something other than the usual game app? He decided on a social distancing app, recruited classmate Kyle Meade ’24, and the two pooled their know-how. The project was deeply complex, but in the end, it worked exactly as he had envisioned it.

Trey Pierce '22
It was an abrupt—but exciting—change of direction. Just as Trey Pierce was about to begin the graduate year of his 4+1 program in electromechanical engineering, he was offered a management role at a robotics company. Trey had been working with Mike Santora ’05, CEO of LOGIC, as part of a co-op at Wentworth’s Accelerate makerspace. He helped create the motion-control function of a shipping dock robot and is now working to streamline the invention—a tool that could revolutionize the shipping industry.
Eva Cloostermans '24
Eva Cloostermans was a serious vocalist. But when she had to choose a career, she opted for another interest—industrial design. “I realized I could still sing as an industrial designer, but I couldn’t do industrial design as a singer.” Eva was drawn to Boston because it’s similar in size and international feel to her home country of Luxembourg. She was drawn to Wentworth because of the facilities—and the sense of community. “I plunged right in,” she says, “helping to start a club for women in industrial design called Frauhaus.” The club provides networking opportunities and support systems for women in ID.
Manny Chalumeau '22
Inspired by controversies around natural hair, Manny Chalumeau ’22 and a group of friends started Krown, a shopping site for natural hair products. It’s also a cultural hub that encourages Black women and men to artfully celebrate their “Krowns.” Manny sees Wentworth as a basecamp for Boston. In addition to the ample support he’s found at Wentworth’s Accelerate incubator, he’s very plugged into the greater Boston community.
“You have the benefit of big and small at Wentworth, an intimate school set in a big city where a lot is happening. It’s the best of all worlds.”
Jenah Arsenault '23
It all started with a high school robotics class—a class Jenah Arsenault took only because she needed to fulfill a computer credit. In the end, she liked the course so much, the teacher recommended she consider an engineering career.
“I started looking at different engineering fields and when I read about designing the infrastructure for cities of the future, I knew that civil engineering was it. At Wentworth, my favorite co-op has been producing a schematic design for a carwash. It covered so many aspects of civil engineering, and I loved every minute of it. That’s the beauty of a co-op—find out if you really love what you plan to do.”

All application deadlines are non-binding, non-restrictive. Wentworth encourages you to apply when you feel ready to hit submit and all rounds are reviewed in the same way, there is simply a difference in timing for you as the applicant.

Official Transcripts
An official high school transcript or G.E.D. scores. Please note that transcripts are considered official only if sent directly from your high school.

Recommendation Letters
Letters of recommendation at Wentworth are optional. If applicants would like to submit a letter of recommendation, we will accept up to two recommendations from guidance counselors, teachers, employers, or coaches. Email letters of recommendation to admissions@wit.edu.

Extracurricular Activities
How you spend your time above and beyond academics is important to us! Be sure to include your participation in community service activities, athletic teams, employment and involvement in clubs and organizations, as well as any family commitments you may have.

Prerequisites
You must complete a mathematics course of study through the Algebra II level, at least one laboratory science course (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, or Physics), and four years of English.
Pre-Calculus is not a requirement for admission. However, students applying for Applied Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science or any Engineering program without pre-calculus, may have to take one summer course to complete their math sequence.

Submitting Additional Documents
Support materials from schools should be uploaded through the appropriate channels. Wentworth will be sure to match the documents to your application upon receipt. Any additional materials can be emailed to admissions@wit.edu.

Test Optional (SAT/ACT) Information
Wentworth adopted a test-optional admissions policy in 2018 as part of its institutional commitment to inclusive excellence. We encourage students of all backgrounds to pursue their passions, especially in the science and engineering fields where women, students of color and first generation students have been historically underrepresented. Below are some frequently asked questions to address questions you may have. If you do not see your questions addressed here, please feel free to contact us at admissions@wit.edu or 617-989-4000.
All applicants are eligible for test optional admissions, with the exception of home-schooled applicants and applicants attending a high school that employs a narrative assessment of course performance and does not provide grades on a 4.0 scale.
International students are not required to submit SAT/ACT scores but must show proof of English proficiency. Please see the English Proficiency Requirements.
If you feel that your SAT/ACT scores will strengthen your application, then you should submit the scores. If you feel that the SAT/ACT scores are not a reflection of your academic ability and would prefer the admissions committee review your admissions file based on your high school performance, extracurricular activities, and personal qualities as evidenced in your essay and letter of recommendation then you may decide not to submit the scores.
Regardless of submitting test scores, all accepted students are considered for merit scholarships based on overall academic performance.
Please note that students who do decide to submit test scores must submit those scores officially. That means your scores need to come to us directly from the SAT/ACT or be submitted to us by your school. If test scores have not arrived to Wentworth by the application decision deadline, we will review the application without the scores.
