Zoe Graham, '24 Industrial Design

Co-op is awesome because you get to try out a handful of different fields or positions and for me personally I figured out that I didn't necessarily want to be somewhere where I wasn't doing a ton of hands on work.

Zoe completed a co-op at Parlor Skis and Snowboards and is an assistant lab technician at Wentworth's Accelerate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.

Dylan Schrock, Mechanical Engineering

"I think a co-op is important because once you graduate, it just gives you a lot more experience right out the door to be able to just step into your next job as a “next job” instead of your “first job”." 

Shawn (Guanhao) Shao, ’20 Computer Science 

"I learned the value of networking for your career. Learning from people who are older than you can help you to avoid a lot of unnecessary “potholes” throughout your journey. It also taught me that the more people you know, the easier it is for you to get referred to the company you want work at." 

Shawn completed his first co-op at Tesla and his second co-op at PinOn, Inc. At graduation, Shawn accepted a job at Bilibili Group. 

Laura Healey, ’16 Biomedical Engineering 

"My co-op gave me the confidence and skill set to move forward in my career... I realized that a lot of my new skills were learned on the job and that classes cannot cover everything you need to succeed." 

Laura completed both mandatory co-ops at Infraredx. At graduation, Laura accepted a job at Draper labs. 

Connor Beebe, ’16 Industrial Design

"I had incredible mentors. To work with some legendary footwear designers at such a young age absolutely shaped my outlook on design. It set me up for my next steps that I am on now. The people I met and worked with, I'm still incredibly close with." 

Connor completed three co-ops, an optional co-op at Gentex and two mandatory co-ops at New Balance. At graduation, Connor accepted a job at Converse. 

Prabhjyot Kaur, ’20 Computer Information Systems 

 "I learned to be self-sufficient and take initiative. At times I was given tasks that I didn’t know how to do, but I would research the topic or look up instructions. It is important to be productive even if you are not getting undivided attention or guidance."  

Prabhjyot completed her first co-op at The TJX Companies, Inc. and her second co-op at Boston Properties where she also accepted a job at graduation.
