Undergraduate Leadership Experience
The goal of the Women@Wentworth Undergraduate Leadership Experience is to connect students to a diverse community of mentors and role models as they catalyze their career potential and develop their unique abilities to lead. Students customize the their leadership pathway to align with their personal and professional goals as they learn to optimize their strengths, build networks, and cultivate tenacity for a lifetime of success.

How to Participate in Women at Wentworth
Acquire resume-building competencies while earning BADGES that build to a CERTIFICATE in WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP.
Women@Wentworth recognizes the leadership activities that you already do in ANY leadership context on campus. Whether you are engaging in a women-focused activity, leading an all-identity club or organization, or participating in any other leadership development experiences, your efforts count in this program!
Women@Wentworth also offers additional opportunities to build your leadership acumen throughout each academic year and provides an option for you to submit an activity that is not listed in the current materials.

Year 1: Foundations

Badge 1 Requirements
1. Complete two or more of the following experiences:
- Reside in the Women @ WIT LEAP living learning community
- Attend any women-focused campus event
- Attend any leadership-focused program on campus
- Participate in or lead any organization/club
- Participate in any women-focused wellness event or fitness program
- Participate in a varsity sport
- Complete any elective course focused on leadership, gender, or DEI
- Participate as a mentee in a 1st & 2nd year mentor program

2. Submit a short Women@Wentworth Leadership Statement.
What is a Women@Wentworth Leadership Statement: Your leadership statement is a short reflection on what activity you completed, how you experienced it, an example of something new that you learned, and how you will apply this new learning to a future scenario. Note: You may have learned many things from one badge activity. Focus on only one learning experience for this statement.

How do I write a Women@Wentworth Leadership Statement?

Leadership Activity Definitions & Descriptions (All Years)
LEAP (Leopard Engaging Among Peers): Live in the women@WIT LEAP residential community.
Women-focused Campus Event: Attend any event on campus with a woman keynote, panel, or women-focused theme.
Women-focused Organization/Club: Participate/lead any campus organization or club focused on women including the Women’s Council, CROWN, Frau-Haus, Society of Women Engineers, WILD, and others.
Women’s Wellness or Fitness Program: Attend a women-focused event or program hosted by WIT Center for Wellness, Schumann Fitness Center, or the Center for Student Life.Varsity Sport: Participate on or lead any WIT sports team.
Student Organization/Club: Lead ANY WIT student organization/club. All leadership roles qualify.
Electives: Complete ANY elective focused on Leadership, Women, or DEI.
Leadership Program/Workshop: Attend ANY leadership focused program or event.
Lead on Campus: Serve as an CA, Admissions Ambassador/Info Session Speaker/Host, Orientation Leader, Peer Mentor, SWEET member, Commuter Assistance Leader, Wellness Educator, WOW Leader or other campus Leadership role.
LinkedIn Learning: Complete a LinkedIn Learning Course on Leadership, Equity, Gender or Women.
Campus Leadership Training: Complete any campus-sponsored leadership, equity or DEI training program.
Entrepreneur/Executive in Residence (EIR): Attend an Office Hour with any WIT EIR.
Mentor Program: Serve as a mentor in an existing formal WIT Mentor program or participate as a mentor or mentee in the “coming soon” W@W UG Mentor Program.
Industry Conference: Attend a women-focused industry conference in your field OR speak or play a leadership role in ANY conference in your field.

YES. Women@Wentworth is designed to recognize your leadership development in all activities on campus.

What if I lead or participate in an activity not listed?
No Problem! Use the “Customized Option” to propose your activity. Women@Wentworth is designed to be inclusive of all activities that develop your leadership acumen.

Can I participate in the same activity year after year and get credit for it each time?
Yes.
