Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Workforce Development division hosted a celebratory luncheon for 17 YouthBuild Boston students. The students recently completed a 12-week YBB Pre-Apprenticeship & Wentworth Career Essentials in the Skilled Trades Certificate (professional non-credit training) program.  

At the forefront of innovation, the Bose Concept Prototyping team explores emerging technologies and shapes the future of customer experiences. Wentworth Institute of Technology graduate Richie Lanoue, Mechanical Engineering ’17, finds himself right in the heart of this world.

As a mechanical engineer, Lanoue is responsible for exploring early product concepts. New technologies that may go into products in the future, new experiences that Bose may want to test, and how customers may value those experiences are all examined.  

The Wentworth Institute of Technology Sounding Rocket Team traveled this semester to Potter, New York for their first official launch after more than a year of designing, building, and testing the university's first high-powered rocket. 

The day was cold and windy, which added to the challenge of recovery, but the team prevailed. Work on the rocket was conducted by students Elliot Conlin, David Bilia, and Sarthak Mandavia with their advisor Herb Connors. 

The venerated Boston Scholars Dinner returned to campus this year, celebrating the success stories of Wentworth Institute of Technology students from Greater Boston, past, present, and future.

A tradition that goes back a number of years, the Boston Scholars Dinner is hosted by The Center for Community & Learning Partnerships. This year’s event carried the theme “Paving the Path: Our Journey to Success.”

On November 13th, the Wentworth Institute of Technology community was invited to the third and final installment in this year's Story of WIT experience. Inspired by the Grammy-winning Taylor Swift album, the Speak Now Open Mic Night invited all to speak, to listen, and to share in the stories the folks who call Wentworth their home.

Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Construction Management Club participated in Canstruction Boston 2023, a charity event where teams of architects, designers, engineers, and contractors compete in awe-inspiring feats of engineering to create sculptures made from canned goods and other non-perishable food items-without the use of glue or other adhesives.  

This year’s theme was “Celebrating New England.” The CM Club chose to build the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, which is located in Maine.  

Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Construction Management program recently sent a group of students to the CoreNet Global conference, in Denver, Colorado to compete in the Academic Challenge 14 Competition and the group captured first prize.

For the first time since 2018, the top-seeded

As a high school student in California, Jesselle Yeomans found herself highly interested in the idea of computers and the ability to give back. She found both in the unique Computer Science and Society degree program at Wentworth Institute of Technology. 

“I like Boston, but I was also attracted to the smaller class sizes at Wentworth, knowing that I would have a lot of administration and staff to help me if I needed help,” said Yeomans. 

On Thursday, November 9, Wentworth Institute of Technology will host its 16th Annual Veterans Day Luncheon, an event to honor and celebrate the veterans and active-duty military members of the Colleges of the Fenway communities.

Teams of Wentworth Institute of Technology students were given a pumpkin, three days, and the use of space, materials, and tools, to create the most innovative pumpkin that they can come up with. Accelerate’s space was the inspiration for this year's contest.

Wentworth Institute of Technology's Teaching and Learning Collaborative (TLC) staff member Joshua Luckens joined School of Sciences and Humanities Professor Gillian Tietz for a Halloween-themed murder mystery project. 

Construction Management students were required to use their skills in stoichiometry--the relationship between the weights of reactants and products before, during, and following chemical reactions--to sleuth out the culprit in a spooky edition of the "Chemistry of the Built Environment" class.

The first Applied Mathematics Reunion was a celebration of shared passion for the subject, bringing together former classmates, professors, and friends.  

In the atrium of Wentworth Institute of Technology's Center for Engineering, Innovation, and Sciences, recent graduates reflected on their time in the Applied Math program and shared what they’re up to now.

The Center for Diversity & Global Engagement recognizes the profound contributions and influence of Hispanic and Latine members of our community. This month is not only a testament to their rich histories, diverse cultures, and countless achievements, but also a pivotal opportunity for all members of Wentworth to come together in appreciation and understanding.

Wentworth Institute of Technology’s School of Architecture and Design will host the venerable Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) 2023 East Regional Conference, and it’s not too late to register!  

Carrying the theme “Making Interiors,” this year’s event will take place on Wentworth’s Boston campus on Thursday, October 4 and Friday, October 5.  

On September 20 and 21, Wentworth Institute of Technology and the National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR) University from India hosted a Collaboration Summit to foster partnership and innovation between the two institutions through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU). 

U.S. News & World Report announced their 2024 higher education rankings this morning and Wentworth Institute of Technology has once again been named to several “Best” category lists.

The latest rankings reflect a university that earned a place in the Best Value Schools, Best Regional Universities, Best Colleges for Veterans, and Top Performers on Social Mobility in the Northeast categories.
